Lurline and Ed

I am sitting here in beautiful Brisbane thinking about my dear friend Lurline and her husband Ed who is having a rough time in Hospital.
If you follower her blog you know what is happening, I would like to make a quilt for Ed and am asking for your help.
If you like to help send me a 6 inch finished ( 6 1/2inch unfinished) Churndash block by the 10th June and I will stitch it in to a quilt as quick as I can so Ed can use it once at home. Colours, I guess masculine .
The image shows a little quilt top made from four Churndash blocks ( the green triangles are not part of the block).
Lurline and I have had many wonderful times and some sad ones too. Even so distance is stopping us sewing together she is often in my thoughts.

Email me for my postal address if you like to be part of this.

hugs to all

Well I found more started blocks, the once on the left are a friendship swap and the large once are from a pattern by Robyn Pandolph called Botanica.

The mess, well I moved a some furniture around and now have to deal with cleaning it all...... think I need a new desk it is getting a little shabby.

Giveaway and fabric for sale..

I think it is time to have a little giveaway, the two dolls are made by me from a pattern called Forever Friends ( I think ).
I had them on my wall and the no longer fit in to my new Kitchen/dining.

Please leave a comment if you would like them and I draw a name on friday, this is open to anyone as they don't weigh much to post.

The other shows some fabrics, I think it is from the range Shangri La, it is a cotton/suede and just under 60 inches wide.
There are two pieces one is 3.20m and the other 2m. The colour is more like the little piece that you can see in the Dolls' image.
I would like $ 50 plus postage ( only Australia ) please. I am going to use the money to buy some more batting for the other 12 charity quilts I still need to quilt.

Yes I am stitching...

Finished the fours block from a set of twelve I bought while in the US, all the fabric was included in each block. It was a great idea as you could buy just one or the set.

The other is charity quilt number 11 finished, I have stitched the binding a little different as I thought it might be a little quicker and fun but pulling the perle thread through is hard work.
Anyway I don't think think I saved much time, but it is done.
I still have another twelve charity quilt tops here to finish.....

Happy stitching

Mother's Day and sewing day

Hope it is, was a wonderful Mother's day for everyone and you got to spend some time with your families or may even got to talk to them. I still have to call my Mum in Germany but DH is currently on the phone calling his Mum.

Looking forward to the 17th May and there are going to be eight of us, got an email from Kate and she had a great idea regarding bringing some items to swap or sell. You know how it is someone might just need what you no longer want or need.
Please feel free to go through your stash, patterns or even UFO's and you might just find something new to take home.......
Just an idea, a little fun and no obligations.

cheers

UFO's, Stash,Patterns and Books

I think I am suffering from overload, there are too many started quilts, there are too many patterns in my collections that I would like to make ( in my dreams ) and lets not talk about the amount of fabric......

Oh dear what to do, I was telling my husband that I think I should reduce my overload of stuff ( he doesn't think I should ), but I think it is actually stopping me getting projects done as I feel weighted down.
Maybe I will have a garage sale for Quilters? Hm...............

How do you all feel about what is in your sewing room?
On top of this I have had more time in the last six month than I have had in a very long time, yet I sit and ponder.

So here is what I am going to do, I will have a sewing day at my house on the 17th May from 10am, bring you own lunch but morning tea is provided. Maybe this will motivate me with my sewing. I have room for about six and you can bring your machine if you like.
Email me for my address and let me know if you would like to come. We will talk about the next day then.

Happy sewing
Christine
