Donated Quilt tops

Hi all

Just wanted to show you two quilt tops that have arrived at my place for the Flood appeal, I will quilt them asap and get them to someone that needs a quilting hug.

One of the shops I teach at " Peppermint Stitches " Stacey has kindly ask her fabric reps. and we received a large bolt of extra wide backing from Moda to use for the quilts we are making. She has also received a very large suitcase full from a second wholesaler with beautiful fabrics. I am so looking forward to make beautiful quilts and to pass them on brighten someones day.

Hopefully there will be a few helpers coming along on a Tuesday morning and it will get some quilts delivered sooner rather then later.
There are other group sewing quilts and it looks like many Flood affected people will receive a quilt.

We are now looking at a huge Cyclone coming towards the east coast called Yasi, it won't get down as far as Brisbane but when crossing the coast do a lot off damage.

Both the quilt tops came with backing and bindings, thank you to Rena from Germany and a friend of mine Deidre.

Take care
Christine

ps. I have also received some thread from Walters Import here in Brisbane and some batting from Victorian Textiles, thank you.

What else have I been doing...

Well we have done a little work on the kitchen and I have some cupboards installed, we are leaving the fronts off until I get my Caesarstone Benches, I don't want my draw fronts and doors to be damaged. The other cupboards are coming soon.
Appliances are going to be delivered on the 12th February, so guess what no cooking on my birthday.

The wall hanging is for my DS girlfriend she is a teacher and ask me to make this for her class room to put notes in for the kids, I am still doing the name tags, see the little name tags are going to hang off each button.

The little quilt top is made from left over and will be one for the Quilts for Queensland quilts.

Enjoy
Christine

ps. don't forget the Auctions are still going past posts.

Flooding

Hi all

The flooding is getting worse and spreading, it is so hard to believe unless you see it with your own eyes.
While we are safe and DH is on his way home as roads are being cut off, we do worry about our daughters place and hope the creek doesn't come up to the house.
The rain is just not stopping and everyone feels so help less.
There are still over 70 people missing in the Toowoomba area, many believed to be children, please keep us in your thoughts.

quilting hugs

Today next month....

I will be 50, wow can't believe half a century...... very big grin.

Thought I show you what my place looks like at the moment. One picture shows some off the old ( going this afternoon, great can't wait), the other some off the new and the empty Kitchen well half of it anyway. The stone mason is not back from holiday before the 14th so no benches for a while yet, but hey I be happy to have some cupboards as you don't want to see the spare room that hold all my kitchen stuff.

The Doll quilt swap is going to be great, not to late to join in and yes you can be anywhere.......to join.

cheers
Christine

Etsy...store

If you like check out my Etsy store I have added a few things.

Still two weeks two weeks to join the Doll quilt swap, they are not big and there is plenty of time in between the swaps.
You can just do one or both or maybe even more .....

If you like to read about it click on the page under my header Doll quilt swap.

Some have asked about my kitchen reno, well I no longer have a kitchen, but we are slowly getting ready to put the new one in and let me tell you working with someone that is giving up smoking is NO FUN at all ( ps. he never ever smoked in the House or anywhere near me or the children).
I am talking about my DH ( well used to be DH), he has been twice for hypnosis to stop and is not nice to be around. Have to say I am glad he is going back to work on Monday and maybe someone else will be on the receiving end of his lovely personality.

He normally is very calm and pleasant to be around, but at this point I am not sure if we get to our 32nd wedding anniversary........
Our adult children just say: oh Mum you have to understand he can't help it,ggrrrrrr.

Sorry just had to vent

cheers
Christine

ps. this quilt is for sale on Etsy... I have two and only want to keep one.
