UFO's, Stash,Patterns and Books

I think I am suffering from overload, there are too many started quilts, there are too many patterns in my collections that I would like to make ( in my dreams ) and lets not talk about the amount of fabric......

Oh dear what to do, I was telling my husband that I think I should reduce my overload of stuff ( he doesn't think I should ), but I think it is actually stopping me getting projects done as I feel weighted down.
Maybe I will have a garage sale for Quilters? Hm...............

How do you all feel about what is in your sewing room?
On top of this I have had more time in the last six month than I have had in a very long time, yet I sit and ponder.

So here is what I am going to do, I will have a sewing day at my house on the 17th May from 10am, bring you own lunch but morning tea is provided. Maybe this will motivate me with my sewing. I have room for about six and you can bring your machine if you like.
Email me for my address and let me know if you would like to come. We will talk about the next day then.

Happy sewing
Christine

That last UFO looks beautiful and bright! I know I have things piling up but I couldn't bare to part with it....sometimes not even to my own mum!

A sewing-meeting sounds good, but I am a little bit too far away to join in.... The things you are working on look very nice and don't bother: it's the creativity that needs much fabric and many projects!!
Happy sewing!!!

sometimes when I start feeling overwhelmed with everything I have started I pack away all but three of them, applique , piecing and hand quilting
I work only on these for about a month and usually at least one is done by the months end. It works for me
try sometime of system
sure wish I was close enough I am looking for a sewing group to have get togethers with. I miss the inspiration from a in person sewing group

A little far to travel for me, but sounds delightful. I have been trying my hardest to un-clutter my world, but funny thing is, more projects are added than finished. Sigh!

I think we all go through that from time to time. I need to get rid of blocks and projects that I'll definitely not finish though. A sewing bee sounds like fun, wish I could be there.
If it makes you feel any better, there was a quilter who passed and that was about 15 years ago. A sale of her stuff was organised by the guild and they raised $100,000 I wonder where and how she stored it all.

If I was closer I'd love to come. I try not to have too many projects going at once.If I know I do not want to finish it I give it away. It is very freeing!

sounds like you are going to have great fun! Too bad you live around the world from me! Your red applique quilt will be beautiful when finished...

Obviously you are not alone when you feel overwhelmed - have been feeling a bit of that lately but as things get back to normal after the flood, so I am feeling more in control. Always love your work, Christine - maybe you need a deadline for a couple of them - I find that works for me - sometimes! I'll be heading for Albury on you sewing day - never mind! Have fun. Glad you like my Mail Art - it's fun & achieveable most of the time.

I think we all know how you feel! I am currently going through IKEA catalogues to work out how to better organise my space, it is out of control. I have also decided for this years shop retreat that I'm taking nothing new, but will finish off some projects!

I'd love to come!! of course, I can't, but I would if I could.
When I feel overwhelmed, I pack up things and put them away ans save them for another day and work on what is calling to me most at that time.
have a fun sewing day!!

I'd be there in a heart beat if I wasn't on the East Coast of USA. (Does that mean I'd be there if I was on the West Coast? Doubtful)

I have heard it is very liberating to unload excess stuff. I have done a bit over the last two moves but I cling to my fabric. I like most of it even if I'm tired of it. Isn't that a contradiction! Hope your quilting pep returns soon.
